Welcome to CommonPool ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").

Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the Service.


Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Account information: Your name and email address, collected when you create an account or join a neighborhood group

  • Profile information: Any additional information you choose to add to your profile

  • Item listings: Photos, descriptions, condition notes, and availability status of items you add to your neighborhood library

  • Item photos: Photos you upload when adding items or confirming returns

  • Communications: Any messages or notes sent through the Service

Information collected automatically:

  • Device information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers

  • Usage data: Features used, pages viewed, and actions taken within the app

  • Log data: IP address, access times, and app crash reports

  • Photo metadata: When you upload return photos, we collect and validate embedded metadata including date and time stamps for verification purposes

Information from third parties:

  • Payment information: Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number or banking details. We receive confirmation of payment status only. Please review Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy

  • Authentication: We use magic link email authentication. We do not store passwords

How can I contact you?

Within your neighborhood group:

  • Your name and profile information are visible to other members of your neighborhood group

  • Item listings you create, including photos and availability status, are visible to all members of your group

  • Your borrowing and lending activity is visible to relevant parties (item owners and borrowers) and group administrators

With service providers:

  • Stripe: For payment processing and subscription management

  • Email service provider: For sending authentication links and notifications

  • Cloud hosting provider: For storing app data and photos

We require all service providers to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us.

For legal reasons:
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of CommonPool, our users, or others.

Business transfers:
If CommonPool is acquired, merged, or sold, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

CommonPool is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Account Deletion

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Specifically:

  • Account data is retained while your account exists and for 90 days after deletion

  • Item photos are retained while the item exists in your group's library

  • Return photos are retained for 12 months for verification purposes

  • Payment records are retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 9).

You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Upon deletion:

  • Your profile and personal information will be removed within 90 days

  • Items you own will remain in the group library attributed to "Deleted User" for 30 days, after which administrators may reassign or remove them

  • Your borrowing history will be anonymized rather than deleted to preserve group records

Group administrators may also remove users from a neighborhood group. Removed users retain their account and may join or create other groups.


Notifications

We send the following types of communications:

  • Magic link authentication emails (required, cannot be disabled)

  • Item request notifications (required for Service functionality)

  • Checkout and return confirmations (required for Service functionality)

  • Subscription and billing reminders (required for Service functionality)

  • Optional service updates and announcements (can be disabled in profile settings)



Your information is stored on secure servers. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Photos uploaded to the Service are stored securely and are only accessible to members of your neighborhood group and CommonPool staff for support purposes.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you

  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information

  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information

  • Portability: Request your data in a portable format

  • Objection: Object to certain processing of your information

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@elitesolis.com. We will respond within 30 days.

California residents: Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have additional rights including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to know whether your personal information is sold or disclosed and to whom, the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

EEA/UK residents: If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR. Our legal basis for processing your information is your consent (for optional features), performance of a contract (to provide the Service), and legitimate interests (for security and service improvement).

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email and by posting the new policy in the app with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
